Creek House is a privately owned home and serene vacation retreat in the  North Eastern Sonoma County hills.  Surrounded by acres of unspoiled woods, the secluded, tranquil setting is completely private. The Green-designed house and water-wise landscaping are designed to feel as if they were part of the natural environment. Well-placed windows, three sets of glass French doors and a wrap-around porch bring the outside in. Ideally situated in between the Napa and Sonoma Valleys,

a beautiful drive through wooded hills brings you to world-class wineries, great shopping, and restaurants to please every palate, all just minutes away.

Spacious, Warm and Inviting

Owner designed and custom-built in 2011 to exacting standards by local contractor and master craftsman John Tagliaferri of St. Helena, California, Creek House is warm and inviting. The 1450 square foot interior is remarkably spacious. The 27-foot four pitched pine ceiling enhances the feeling of openness and space.

The comfortably furnished wrap around porch adds 1250 square feet of outdoor living space. Beautiful custom cabinetry and woodwork can be found throughout the house. The stained concrete floors keep the home cool in Summer, while the radiant heating embedded in the floors make for warm toes and a cozy temperature in Fall and Winter. Light a fire in the wood-burning fireplace for added ambience or on those extra cold nights.

Bringing the Outside In

The home has many large windows and glass doors that bring the outside in. Each window frames a different view of the creek, gardens and the surrounding woods. The woods are filled with oaks and maples that, with their seasonal change, create beautiful views. The seasonal creek runs in Winter through late Spring on average, depending on rainfall. The gardens delight the senses with perennial flowers, striking grasses, flowering trees and specimen plants. Something new is always in bloom.

Gourmet Kitchen

The well-designed kitchen is equipped with a six-burner gas range, standard/convection oven, built-in microwave/ convection/warming oven, dishwasher and large refrigerator freezer / icemaker. The cabinets are stocked with dishes and glassware, as well as basic cooking ingredients like oils and spices. The usual appliances are available for your use (toaster, coffee press, coffee grinder, and electric tea kettle, blender). The concrete topped island is great for meal prep, serving, or just pull up a stool and eat right there. The kitchen opens onto the Great Room, so everyone is always in the "best" room in the house.

Green Design

The Creek House was “green engineered” with conservation in mind. A deep well provides water that that is double filtered with potassium. Waste water is pumped under pressure 250 feet up the hill and is distributed underground around trees and plants. In the summer months, the trees and extended eaves keep the house cool. The floor cools in the summer afternoon, and generally the house interior is 10 - 15 degrees cooler than the courtyard. In winter, the low sun provides direct sunlight by late morning. Ground mounted solar panels hidden on the hill above the house provide electricity.
